THE VIVID GREY

The worldwide fashion trend is changing rapidly, with shorter and shorter trend cycles. The current industry targets and promotes the new fashion market to customers in their 20s-30s, who often purchase trendy clothes and accessories for each fashion season. In Korea, each generation tends to adopt similar styles of outfits each season due to the pervasive influence of trends propagated by enterprises through the strategic use of social media. The fear of being excluded from groups for not following trends is a major driver of this phenomenon.

In contrast to this trend-driven fashion culture, many older individuals in Korea, primarily in the Dongmyo Shrine area, prefer sustainable and distinctive clothing, valuing individuality in fashion. As someone interested in projects related to minority cultures, I became intrigued by them.

Every picture in this project was created using a Profoto B1 Air and the technique of overpowering the sun with flash to make the models' features and backgrounds distinctive.
